Re: Map Editor?

back in the dev topic #2 thread, it was originally called a "level creator" for the game, we don't know how to use it yet, maybe when regalis sees this, he'll explain it.

Interesting. I'd like to try creating my own levels depending on how easy it is to use. It would be a good way to give more of a challenge to people if we can upload these user-created levels to some kind of repository. The levels could have a difficulty rating based on people's votes. I could probably think of a lot of possibilities if we had this as an actual feature of the game.

It's still a work in progress, so you can't really use it yet even if you compile the code. It's partially functional though - you can create a map - it's just that it doesn't have a save function and the actual game doesn't have any way to load user-made maps yet. The user interface is also pretty awful at the moment.

And btw, you unfortunately can't create your own rooms with it if that's what any of you were thinking, it's just for assembling a map layout from the existing rooms and choosing which scripted events are placed in which room. You can also set a probability for an event to appear in a room (like a 50% chance for 173 to pop up in an airlock room) to make the map a bit more unpredictable.

Well, I'd love to see how it turns out once it's finished! I hope people don't do stuff like Amnesia custom stories and be like "JUMPSCARES EVERYWHERE"

Other than that, it would be pretty cool.
