Im looking into motion capture with conventional items

Kinect is a good tool for this, I'm going to do some tests.

If you ever get this working, please have a shot at making some new animations for all of the human characters (scientists, guards, class-D, etc). I think it's about time that silly Guard walk and odd Class-D posture gets replaced.

Guards walk like if they had stiff legs and pelvis and both Class-Ds and Scientists all stand like gangsters :v
