My point, it still stands.
A lot of Fan-fics write characters way out of character for the purpose of mindless grimdark.

I believe I'll get used to it just like you. The only two fics that I've read both have out-of-character characters...

Yet I still see their characters as before in the real show. I'm pretty sure I'll have my emotions go about this kind of stuff if I keep reading it.

I just read the Rainbow Dash part of what Glitch posted, I loled.

Here's my super-grimdark fanfic;

One day Sweetie Belle was cannibalizing the other Cutie Mark Crusaders, then decided to go and kill Twilight Sparkle to steal the Nuclear Friendship Missile she had been working on because of the war between ponies and griffons or something. Once Sweetie Belle had murdered Twilight with all these torture implements she somehow had access to (She did get a lot of weird looks at the Ponyville market), she killed every background pony to get enough blood to fuel the missile then launched it at Manehatten. Suddenly Doctor Whooves came by in his TARDIS to stop Sweetie Belle, but she killed him too, thereby eliminating every popular secondary character with the exception of herself. The missile hit, killing everypony there including Babs Seed, making Sweetie Belle the sole Cutie Mark Crusader which, PLOT TWIST!!! was her plan all along to become a pony Princess. You see, Sweetie Belle was in fact the next in line for the throne after Celestia, and the rule for becoming a Princess is to sacrifice the three fillies closest to you, which she just did. Now Sweetie Belle is a Princess, and begins her tyranny by torturing Shining Armour to death. Then Apple Bloom and Scootaloo come back as zombies and kill Princess Sweetie Belle. THE END.
