I'm just going to let it out.
How do you level up on this website?
I think it works like this:

When you get a certain amount of posts, you level up
or something like that

Please correct me if I'm wrong

9- posts is Class D.
10 to 49 is Doctor Bright's Assistant (or whatever it was)
50 to 99 is Technician.
100 to 249 is Guard.
250 to 499 is Operative.
500 to 999 is MTF.
1000+ is Senior Staff.

Why does this seem to matter so much to newcomers?

Because nobody wants to be stuck as Doctor Bright's assistant. NOBODY.

On the other unrelated note: For any newcomers: it's just a rank, be paitent and you prob. won't be Dr. Bright's assistant anymore.
