Forum Poison!

First to go was Mirocaine. Then it was Monocle. Then, well, I had to go. No, I'm not gone forever, you could probably tell because I'm posting. One day, in the fresh new year of 2013, a topic was made. A forum-changing topic. 'New moderators needed' was the new headline. Like some other users, I also joined into the voting. Of course I didn't win (No good luck), but three great guys, Sparks, Glitch, and the great Peanut Head were all promoted. I'm happy they were, but something happened that day. Something majorly terrible. No, it wasn't the thousands of spambots joining by the minute to be destroyed in an epic battle to the death by Steelpoint, it was the ban. Now, the ban expanded like a balloon, and clouded our thoughts. We had the moderating power. No more off-topic posts. Off-topic posts are ban, and so it came to be that the forum slowly died. (Mirocaine doesn't count, he just left in December anyways.)

So, whenever I come onto any forum, I look for a question. That golden opportunity to help someone out or give criticism. I don't post non-sense, maybe a few exceptions, but it's rare. And most people here should be mature enough to do so also. Except hug, he just spams pointless threads that are way past my point. If you bring back mild off-topic posts, I think the forum might keep itself alive. School is out soon, users will be online more often. I hate off-topic posting as much as the next guy, but you underestimate the power it has to bring activity to the forums, and with it productivity. It influences a lot of things, the Off-Topic section will expand, more users, and Containment Breach would go back into the limelight of the internet.

Sparks, Glitch, Irontaco, try keep this forum alive. Steelpoint, I especially trust your judgement. Now, I'm sorry for bothering you with my sad forum life-story before I go away.
I will still occasionally stroll though. Oh, and Regalis if possible place the ads at the bottom of the page or the side. They shouldn't interfere with the content.

Eh, I don't think it's gonna happen. Even if it does, you shouldn't rely on it. Pewdiepie is playing the game again though. and he sucks at it.
If we do see some new members, it'll most likely be bros, and his fanbase is mostly younger audience.

Steelpoint was the one to first say he wanted the mass derailing of threads to be stopped, and to stop that we have to stop people from going off topic on threads where the off topic posts dont belong.

If you look at the activity, you can see it was high before december because the game was actively getting updates, but since december Regalis has been unable to do so because of his mandatory service.
When he gets back and is finished with it, the forum will start to light up again because progress will be made to the game.
You forgot to add that bit in your post mrpeanut.
What fun is there in making sense?
Now, if you will excuse me i have some chaos to wreak.
Resident forum robot monkey, and chaos incarnate.

Er, yeah, to be honest, I'm pretty sure the reason why the forum hasn't been lively lately is probably because there's only been 3 updates to the game in the past 6 months (wow, that long since 6,5?), not because people are supposedly getting banned for posting off-topic content (which is almost unheard of around here in my eyes).

While yes, some goofing around is fine and can be a nice way to spend the passing months before things get kicked back up, having constant thread derailing and the subsequent bickering just makes the time tick slower.

No worries, summer (well for the northern hemisphere at least) and Regalis' return are imminent, so there.
It slep time bunner.
