there should be a note saying how to do 106 recall protocol somewhere. In absence of instruction people think that everything being on or evrything being off is usually the good combination.

Frankly, if not for my previous scp knowledge I would not know how to contain larry, or that disabling the remote control was a good idea.

I looked through the source code that Regalis posted on the 3rd and noticed a few things about 106's containment.
Turning the magnets off is not necessary, the game only checks if they are turned on at a certain time after the sound transmission and femur breaker are turned on. If you leave them on, you should capture 106 most of the time (bugs happen)
Currently, the timing is based on how long the sound transmission has been on for.
106 starts spawning roughly 35 seconds after the sound transmitter has been turned on and the femur breaker has been activated.
The game checks the state of the magnets 45 seconds after the transmitter has been turned on and the button is pushed.
Since the time calculated after the sound transmitter has been turned on is independent of the femur breaker, odd behavior can be observed on the screen if you wait too long between turning the transmitter on and breaking the D's femur.
For example, if you turn on the transmitter and wait 45 seconds before turning on the femur breaker, the screen will immediately turn off and 106 will not do his fancy bubble thingy. He will instantly spawn and go straight for you if you left the magnets on when you pushed the button.

All the tests I have done have resulted in the behavior described above, though I'm not sure what reloading or returning to the room will do.
Note that the times above are averages, as the game counters change their speed as your fps fluctuates.

Wow, now THERE is a detailed description of 106's Containment procedure! It was very interesting and enlightening to read.
I didn't realize that there is such a thing as an internal clock counting down at certain events. That will be good to keep in mind.
However I did notice the Magnet thing before as it was mentioned by MrGuilkeyFace.
The Magnet does not have to be turned off whatsoever, so you should just hurry up.. turn on the Audio transmission and break the femur.
I did not know though that 106 can still spawn before even breaking the lure subjects femur, if you wait long enough. I will have to try that soon :D

Sorry if my explanation wasn't clear.
106 cannot spawn until the button is pushed.
The logic of the femur breaker is as follows:
If button is pushed check the current time the transmission has been running for
If the time is greater than or equal to 35 seconds, start spawning 106 *(Note that whenever 106 spawns he is temporarily disabled to prevent him from using noclip cheats)
If the time is equal to 35 seconds, play SFX\LureSubject8.ogg.
If the time is greater than 45 seconds, turn the monitor off and check the state of the magnets.
If they are on, do nothing. 106 will remain disabled
If they are off, enable 106.

-Turn on sound transmission
-Turn on femur breaker
-Wait for 106 to appear on the screen

But what do I do next? #confused
