Re: Band Suggestions?

Depends, do not like traditional metal, thrash/death metal, hair metal, gothic metal, etc?

Anyways, Riot's a good band, AC/DC of course, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Dream Theater, and Skid Row (debatable if they're metal or not).

a-ha :P

Most people know them for " Take On Me " - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djV11Xbc914

But they have many more Outstanding Songs -

The Sun Always Shines On Tv [ My All Time Favourite Song ] - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3ir9HC9vYg [ Extremely Beautiful and Emotional ]

Manhattan Skyline - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmVFjNxA4gs [ Also very Beautiful. ]

Scoundrel Days - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaEcXLFNtUw [ Epic. Simply Epic. One of their Darker Songs. ]

Hunting High and Low - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6VaeFCxta8 [ Very Orchestral and VERY Powerful. ]

The Weight Of The Wind - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXA4x1lcDUM [ One of their lesser known Songs :(. A shame really since this one is an amazing production. ]

Stay On These Roads - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWey1DBAchM [ Beautifully Done like The Sun Always Shines On Tv. ]

Out of Blue Comes Green - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3BFu0EpOMM [ Another less known song. Another Epic production. ]

They were HUGE in Europe and here in the U.K.

A big shame that the U.S.A didn't recognize them for anything but Take On Me and " maybe " The Sun Always Shines On Tv.

Maybe it is a good thing.. The Jonas Brothers covered Take On Me and it was just plain horrible. I would have hated to see them or any other teeny bopper fad bands ruin classics from the 80s / 90s. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACpiTh3zUoQ

Watch at your own risk.

Another few Suggestions would be -

Van Halen

Alphaville

Huey Lewis and the News

I know I will probably sound very old for suggestion 80s / 90s Bands [ Though I am only 20 years old ], I just find that their Music is more dynamic and much more fresh sounding than most stuff today. There are still a few good bands like One Republic, Bloc Party and Coldplay out there too. I like a few of N'Duz Songs too.

Hmm, depends what type of metal, Don't mind some types, but it's the gothic and thrash metal that annoys me.

I quite like RATM, So I don't mind some metal suggestions

Is thrash 'too metal' or what? Just curious.
(And if that's the case, check out Tygers of Pan Tang, anything from Spellbound, and Riot, anything from Fire Down Under or Thundersteel.)
(Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Manowar are also really good.)

In that case, allow me to suggest Sabaton.....They sing about wars....
My name is John...Yes you can call me that...Yes it's a bland name, but it gets the job done.

I'm actually charting all of Elena Siegman's songs for rocksmith....

I have a great song everyone will love in a band....
I even ported it to Rocksmith, and it works. Just look at the guitar section I made here.
