But back on topic...
The gun idea is good, even if others think it's a stupid idea because they can't prove a point why it shouldn't be added. Also, you can kill the MTF's if you shoot them in the head or wound them by shooting them in the leg.

And I agree with guns not having a place in the game, it doesn't add anything really significant after all. Yes, it could allow people to shoot everything like a crazy maniac without any desired results, and get them scared some more. But it's still easier to simply add another scp or whatever to add some atmosphere, instead of creating new animations and the like just for something practically useless (and no animations would look pretty dumb).
Besides, shooting MTFs in the head or leg while you are panicking and running around like crazy is kind of very impossible. Do you even realize how small of a target that is, especially in such a (very dark) situation? A situation in which you'd prefer "flight" over "fight" too. Not to mention, realistically, if you even started getting the idea of fighting this force, you'd probably get a sh*tload of other military personnel down your neck in no time flat. They possess radios for a purpose. Also, there's a reason why there are only 9 members in the MTF. They're specialized in subduing scps, so why would they be unable to subdue one simple D-class with a little peashooter in direct combat? Okay, with a lot of luck you might be able to shoot one soldier. Unfortunately, kill one, and be completely overwhelmed by the other two. They're a tag-team after all.
Anyway, all this just to explain a gun could easily be something that requires a lot of work, while not really adding anything interesting to the game.
