Binaural Sound option

#1
Recently I have been looking at binaural sound and I had an idea.
There should be an option for binaural sound for users with headphones as i think it will make the game scarier.

If you don't know what binaural sound is, its basically playing sounds to your ears separately.
E.g. You can have a sound with low volume playing in your left ear and a different sound with medium volume playing in your right.

That can be used to create 3D sound effects.

Imagine this:

You are walking down the maintenance tunnels and suddenly you hear a familiar sound right behind you, before you know it Larry is chasing you and you hear the volume getting louder and louder behind your head. You see the exit and you sprint towards it. After a moment of hiding in the bathroom you hear a dreaded sound in you left ear and before you know it... Game Over flashes on your screen while you are changing your underwear.

Here is a sound i found on Wikipedia : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... lPaper.ogg Just to give you the feel of it.

Here is a breath sound I found in game files that i modified : http://penguin321.netii.net/main/apps/u ... Breath.mp3
The sound plays 3 times.
The first one in your left ear.
The second one in your right ear.
And the third one is supposed to be behind you. (This one makes the hair on my neck stand up. :| )

Here is another example : http://www.moillusions.com/wp-content/u ... aircut.mp3

So what do you think?

I actually bumped up a thread with a similar topic a couple of days ago to post some stereo converted ambient sounds. Here's the topic: http://scpcbgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1745 .

You can listen to them here: https://soundcloud.com/redacted-2 . Some of them are pretty spine-tingley inducing, especially ambient 6. Also, I was wondering, for in game use, would it be possible to mirror or invert the audio channels so that you might hear a sound effect from left to right as opposed to vice versa?
It slep time bunner.

I have researched binaural sounds and turns out they can be used to subliminally send certain frequencies to the brain thus causing some emotions to be stronger than usual.
These frequencies can be embedded into a music track or sound effect making the listener feel certain emotions.
If that would be added people who don't go on the forums would freak out why the title screen music makes them cry

I'm going to do some experiments on certain family members ( ) to discover the nature of these effects.
Will try to post the results once i'm done

then, according to that:
Blue Feather(intro) = calm
The Dread = none, it plays all the time.
Bump in the Night = subtle fear
Satiate Strings = Relief
Medusa = panic?
Satiate = what it feels like to be in an action movie
On mount Golgotha = not implemented.

SOUNDS
173 jumpscare: none needed
106 laugh: unnerving
372 scuttle: mild fear
895 monitor hallucinations: OH MY GOD MY PANTS ARE BROWN
screeeeech in the intro when power shorts out: panic
682 roar: intense panic

with this, the game would immerse you. even more so if played somehow in VR.
